Droit des technologies du marché

Le cours « Droit des technologies du marché » sera dispensé au semestre d’automne 2021 dans le cadre du Master en droit à l’Université de Neuchâtel. Il traitera des relations qu’entretient le droit de la concurrence avec les nouvelles technologies (dont la blockchain et l’intelligence artificielle).

Dans un premier temps, les étudiants suivront une introduction au droit de la concurrence numérique. Dans un second temps, ils exploreront les impacts de la technologie blockchain et de l’intelligence artificielle sur ce droit. L’enseignement se voudra éminemment pratique par la réalisation d’un procès fictif, par lequel les étudiants seront amenés à défendre les intérêts d’un géant du numérique, d’une autorité de concurrence ou d’une start-up.

Le cours sera enseigné par Thibault Schrepel, Professeur à l’Université libre d’Amsterdam (Vrije Universiteit, Pays-Bas), et fondateur du projet « Computational Antitrust » au CodeX Center de l’Université de Standford (États-Unis).

The « Law of Market Technologies » course will be held during the fall semester of 2021 as part of the Master of Law at the University of Neuchâtel. The course will address the ways in which competition law relates to new technologies (including blockchain and artificial intelligence).

Students will first follow an introduction to digital competition law. They will then explore the impacts of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence on this field of law. The course will be conducted in a hands-on format with a mock trial, during which students will be asked to defend the interests of either a Big Tech company, a competition authority, or a start-up.

The course will be given by Thibault Schrepel, Professor at the VU University Amsterdam, and founder of the « Computational Antitrust » project at CodeX Center of Stanford University (USA).
